When other treatments haven't worked, the answer is often in your nervous system. We find it and fix it — with gentle, precise hands-on therapy.
You don't need another generic treatment plan. This approach was built for people who've already been around the houses.
You've tried physio, chiro, massage, or other therapies — and nothing seems to hold
Your scans came back "normal" — but you still feel terrible
You're tired of chasing symptoms and want to understand what's actually driving them
Your pain has spread, moved, or doesn't make sense to you anymore
You've been told "it's just stress" or "learn to live with it" — and you know there's more to it
You want care that treats you as a whole person, not just a collection of body parts
Chronic pain is often your nervous system stuck in protection mode — amplifying signals and creating tension patterns well beyond the original injury.
We identify these patterns and calm them with gentle precision techniques, helping your nervous system reset so your body can move freely again.
Understanding these patterns is the first step. The next is addressing them — layer by layer.
For lasting results, it's essential to address each layer of tension — not just the painful spot. This is how we work through them.
Systematically identifies these protective reflexes and calms them.

Where You Start
We start by listening to your full story — then map what's really going on. A comprehensive whole-body assessment uncovers the root cause, followed by hands-on treatment and a clear plan forward.
What happens:
Ongoing Care
Every follow-up builds on the last. We track how your nervous system is responding, work deeper into remaining layers, and progress your integration drills as your body adapts.
What happens:
Complementary Therapies — Included With Every Session
Two additional therapies run alongside your hands-on care at the Prospect clinic, at no extra cost.
If you've only had conventional approaches, here's how this differs.
Because we work with the nervous system — the common thread in all of these conditions — one approach can address a wide range of presentations. This isn't a claim to treat everything; it's recognition that many chronic conditions share the same underlying drivers.
We focus on the physical and nervous system aspects of these conditions, working alongside your existing mental health support team.
NDIS Services
We work with NDIS participants who have complex needs — particularly those with neurological conditions, chronic pain, PTSD, and presentations that haven't responded well to conventional approaches. Our clinic and in-home services are available across the Adelaide metropolitan area.
Everything you need to know about our approach.
Traditional physio typically focuses on the site of pain — massaging tight muscles, strengthening weak areas. Chiropractic focuses on joint alignment. Neura Manual Therapy™ addresses the nervous system patterns that created those symptoms in the first place. Our techniques are generally gentler and more precise, aimed at changing neural patterns rather than just releasing tissue tension or repositioning joints.
Your nervous system controls everything — muscle tension, pain signals, coordination, even inflammation. When it gets stuck in protective mode (often from injury, stress, or overload), symptoms persist even when there's no structural damage. Our approach works directly with these neural patterns, calming overprotective responses so your body can function normally again.
Your body has remarkable innate healing intelligence — it knows how to repair, regulate, and restore balance. Sometimes protective patterns get in the way. Our role is to identify and remove those barriers, creating the conditions for your body's natural healing capacity to do what it already knows how to do. We're not forcing change; we're facilitating it.
Structural issues are real, but they're rarely the whole story. Many people with significant structural findings on scans have no pain, while others with "normal" scans are in agony. The nervous system determines how your body responds to structural changes. By calming overprotective neural patterns, we often see significant improvement even when structural issues can't be reversed.
Yes. Our approach is grounded in current pain science, neuroscience, and research on the nervous system's role in chronic conditions. While the specific integration of techniques is our own clinical methodology, every component is informed by peer-reviewed research. We're happy to discuss the science with you.
Yes — assessment and treatment happen simultaneously, not one after the other. From the moment we begin, therapy is already underway. You'll leave your first session having already started the treatment process, with a clear understanding of what's driving your symptoms and a plan for what comes next.
Wear comfortable clothing that allows movement — shorts and a singlet or sports bra work well. Bring any relevant scans, reports, or referrals if you have them, though they're not essential. Most importantly, come ready to share your story and what you're hoping to achieve.
No referral is needed to book privately. If you're claiming through Medicare (for chronic conditions), DVA, or WorkCover, a GP referral is required. NDIS participants can self-refer or be referred by their support coordinator.
Most people describe it as gentle sustained pressure or subtle positioning. You might feel warmth, softening, or a sense of release. Some notice referred sensations as connected areas respond. It's nothing like deep tissue massage or manipulation — the nervous system responds better to calm, precise input. Most people find sessions deeply relaxing.
We prescribe exercises when appropriate, but much of the integration work happens in the clinic. Clients visit us for guided integration drills — improving breathing mechanics, core activation, posture control, and other targeted progressions that help your nervous system retain the changes from treatment. We'll discuss what's right for you and what you can work on between sessions.
Usually not. Dysfunction is often multi-layered — there may be issues at the injury site, but these are typically connected to wider patterns in the nervous system. For example, a painful shoulder might involve local tissue tension, but also cervical nerve involvement, altered breathing patterns, and protective guarding from the brain. Effective treatment addresses all layers, not just the painful spot.
Shift happens immediately — most people notice a change from the very first session, often in areas they didn't even mention. Acute issues are generally quick to resolve, often within 1–2 sessions. Complex chronic conditions usually need 5 or more sessions in the initial phase, with ongoing maintenance as needed. We'll give you an honest estimate after your first session and adjust as we see how you respond.
Most treatments address symptoms without changing the underlying patterns that create them. It's like turning off a fire alarm without putting out the fire. By working directly with the nervous system — the controller of muscle tension, pain signals, and protective responses — we're addressing the source. When the pattern changes at that level, results tend to hold.
Occasionally, people experience temporary symptoms as their system recalibrates — like mild soreness, fatigue, or brief flare-ups. This is usually a sign that something is shifting. We'll prepare you for what to expect and are always available to support you through the process.
We promote natural healing — not miracle cures. Your body has its own healing timeframes, and we respect that. While this approach is effective for a wide range of conditions, some situations require input beyond what we offer. When that's the case, we'll refer you for further investigations or bring in other health professionals. We work closely with GPs, specialists, and allied health practitioners to make sure you're getting the best possible support — not just from us, but from the right team around you.
Absolutely not. Your pain is 100% real — it's being generated by your nervous system, which is a physical structure. When we say pain is "nervous system–driven," we mean the neural pathways that process and amplify pain signals are involved. This isn't psychological; it's neurophysiological. The good news is that these patterns can change with the right input.
Multi-area presentations are actually where this approach shines. When you have pain in multiple places, or symptoms that don't fit a neat diagnosis, it often points to nervous system involvement. Rather than treating each area separately, we address the underlying patterns that connect them.
Yes. As registered physiotherapists, our services can be claimed through private health insurance (depending on your level of cover) with HICAPS on-the-spot claiming available. Medicare rebates are available for chronic conditions with a GP referral and care plan. NDIS pricing follows the NDIS price guide.

Our clinic is located in Prospect, South Australia. We also offer in-home services throughout the Adelaide metropolitan area.
Registered Physiotherapist · Founder, Neura Manual Therapy™
With extensive experience in complex chronic pain, neurological conditions, and autonomic presentations, Lee developed Neura Manual Therapy™ to bridge the gap between what neuroscience tells us about pain and what happens in the treatment room. This approach was born from years of working with people whose conditions didn't respond to conventional methods — and finding a better way.
