Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is a neurological disease affecting the brain and spinal cord (central nervous system). MS is an auto immune disease where the body attacks the protective sheath (myelin) around nerve cells. This slows down communication within your nervous system resulting in fatigue, pain, weakness and nerve damage. Symptoms of MS are widely varied - some people may lose the ability to walk whilst others may live for years without significant symptoms.
