Complimentary With Every Hands-On Session

Vibro Sound Therapy
at Physio Now

Vibro Sound is a vibroacoustic sound lounge that uses soothing sound and gentle vibration to help relax muscles, calm the nervous system and ease your body into a deeply restful state — included free with every hands-on session at our Prospect clinic.

No extra cost. Vibro Sound is included with every hands-on session — a calming sound-and-vibration experience that complements your manual therapy. No add-ons, no extra fees.

How Vibro Sound May Help

The Vibro Sound lounge sends gentle sound and vibration through your whole body — often described as a massage made of music — to calm the nervous system, ease tension and prepare your body for hands-on care.

Deep Relaxation

Soothing sound and vibration may help your body let go of tension, easing you into a calm, deeply relaxed state before and during hands-on therapy.

Nervous System Calming

Research suggests vibroacoustic stimulation may increase parasympathetic activity — helping settle an overactive nervous system into its natural rest-and-repair state.

Muscle Tension Relief

Gentle whole-body vibration may help reduce muscle guarding and spasm, softening tight tissue so it responds more readily to manual techniques.

Stress & Mood Support

By promoting relaxation and lowering physiological stress markers, vibroacoustic therapy may help support a calmer mood and a greater sense of wellbeing.

Better Sleep

Many people find the experience profoundly settling. By easing stress and tension, vibroacoustic therapy may help support more restful sleep between sessions.

Enhances Hands-On Therapy

When muscles relax and the nervous system calms, your clinician can work more effectively — making your hands-on session more comfortable and productive.

Better Together

Hands-On Therapy + Vibro Sound

Vibro Sound works as a natural complement to our hands-on approach. As part of your session you settle onto the sound lounge, where soothing sound and vibration help relax your muscles and calm your nervous system — creating the ideal conditions for precise, effective manual therapy.

How It Works

Vibro Sound sends gentle sound waves and vibration through the lounge surface in direct contact with your body. These vibrations interact with your body and nervous system in several ways:

  • Mechanoreceptor stimulation — vibrations activate sensory receptors in skin, muscle and joints, helping modify pain signalling
  • Parasympathetic activation — promotes the body's rest-and-digest response, helping lower cortisol and physiological stress
  • Reduced muscle guarding — gentle oscillation may help ease muscle tension and spasm, improving tissue pliability
  • Nervous-system settling — rhythmic, soothing input may help calm an overactive nervous system and deepen relaxation

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about Vibro Sound therapy at Physio Now.

What is Vibro Sound?

Vibro Sound is a vibroacoustic sound lounge — a specialised reclining surface with built-in transducers that turn calming music and sound into gentle vibrations you can feel throughout your body. It's a non-invasive way to support relaxation, ease tension and calm the nervous system. Many people describe the experience as a massage made of music.

How does the Vibro Sound lounge work?

You recline on the lounge while soothing sound vibrations travel through your body. These vibrations stimulate sensory receptors in your skin, muscles and joints, helping to relax muscle tension and shift your nervous system toward its calming rest-and-digest state. Your clinician selects the sound to suit your condition and comfort.

How does it complement hands-on therapy?

Vibro Sound may help relax your muscles and calm your nervous system before and during hands-on care. When your body is in a more relaxed state, your clinician can work more effectively with deeper tissue layers and the nervous system responds more readily to manual techniques. Think of it as preparing your body to get the most from your session.

What does it feel like?

Most people describe it as a gentle, soothing vibration that you can feel flowing through your body in time with the music — calming rather than intense. It isn't painful or uncomfortable, and many clients find it deeply relaxing. The sound and intensity are adjusted by your clinician to suit your comfort level.

Is Vibro Sound safe?

Vibroacoustic therapy is generally considered safe and well tolerated. It's a passive, non-invasive experience — you simply recline on the lounge while it delivers gentle vibrations. As with any therapy, some situations call for caution, so your clinician will discuss suitability with you and ensure it's appropriate for your specific circumstances before use.

How long does a session last?

Sessions are from 40 minutes in length. Time on the Vibro Sound lounge is built into your hands-on session, so there's no additional time required — it's fully integrated into your regular visit and tailored to support your therapy.

Is Vibro Sound included in my regular session?

Yes. Vibro Sound is included at no extra cost with every hands-on session at our Prospect clinic. It's one of several complementary tools we use to support your therapy experience — there are no additional fees or add-on charges.

What conditions can it help with?

Vibroacoustic therapy has been explored across a range of conditions including chronic pain, fibromyalgia, stress-related tension, neuropathic pain, central sensitisation, muscle spasm, osteoarthritis, chronic back pain and sleep difficulties. Your clinician will assess whether it's appropriate for your specific situation during your initial assessment.

Can I opt out of Vibro Sound?

Absolutely. Vibro Sound is entirely optional. If you prefer not to use it, or if your clinician identifies a reason it may not be suitable, your session continues with hands-on therapy only — no change to your session length or fee. Just let your clinician know your preference.

Is there research supporting vibroacoustic therapy?

Research into vibroacoustic therapy has been ongoing since the 1980s, when Norwegian educator Olav Skille pioneered the approach. Studies have explored its use in pain management, stress reduction and fibromyalgia symptom relief. While the evidence base continues to grow, the research to date supports its role as a safe, non-invasive complementary approach — which is exactly how we use it alongside hands-on therapy.
